Best Fried Chicken Recipe Ideas

Chicken is the easiest to use because there's so many different ways to make it. Of course this page is dedicated to just the best fried chicken recipe ideas. The following recipes are made with several types of chicken, including skinless boneless chicken breasts and wingettes. Also, many of the best fried chicken recipe ideas you will find here are made in the pan, deep fryer, or both.

To make the best fried chicken recipe, you'll need to make sure you have the following ingredients:
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Butter

Those are all very basic ingredients to make the best fried chicken recipe, but sometimes we run out of the basics! Some of the recipes listed below will not need the items above or will need different ingredients. However, if you are looking to make a basic fried chicken recipe you WILL need the above ingredients.

Basic Fried Chicken Recipe

To start making a basic fried chicken, you'll need either a whole chicken cut in pieces, or just your favorite parts of the chicken. I like to buy packages of nothing but drumsticks since it's everyone's favorite.

Heat your pan with butter. Mix together egg and milk into a bowl. Amount doesn't really matter, just make sure there is more milk than egg. Place flour in a gallon size zip lock bag, along with salt and pepper to taste. Dip your chicken in the milk/egg mixture, then throw into the bag. Zip the bag and shake until all pieces are coated with flour. Fry in the pan.

Like mentioned, this is a very basic fried chicken recipe, but it's a classic. More of my best fried chicken recipes are listed below.

Fried Chicken Recipe: Spicy Chicken Wings

For this fried chicken recipe, you will need to find at your local grocery store chicken wingettes. If you have never used these before, they are basically chicken wings that have already been separated for you. This fried chicken recipe is actually a duplicate of the famous "buffalo wings".

You want fully cooked chicken to work with before you start on thie fried chicken recipe. Take each piece of chicken and fry in a deep fryer until chicken floats. No breading is neccessary. Once all chicken is cooked, heat a pan of half butter and half hot sauce. Fry your chicken in the pan on both sides. The longer you cook it the more spicey the chicken will be.

Fried Chicken Recipe: Spicy Chicken Sandwhiches

This fried chicken recipe is similar to the wings, only instead of wings you will use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Make sure you have sandwhich size pieces cut, and soak them in hot sauce before rolling them in flour. Heat a pan of butter on medium high heat, and fry on each side until chicken is fully cooked. You can also add hot sauce to the butter in the pan to make the chicken extra hot. This fried chicken recipe is great for sandwhiches with tomatoes and blue cheese dressing!

Country Fried Chicken

Ever been to a restuarant and fell in love with their Country Fried Chicken? This fried chicken recipe is not as hard to make as you would think! All you need is butter, flour, egg, and buttermilk. Buttermilk is that "secret" ingredient that gives and "country fried" meal it's taste.

To make your own, all you need to do is roll skinless, boneless chicken breasts in an egg and buttermilk mixture, then in flour. Melt butter in a pan and fry your chicken over medium to medium high heat. For the gravey, you can easily find any type of recipe that will work. It's basically the fat and butter left from frying your chicken along with a bit of milk and flour.

Fried Chicken Recipe: Chicken Strips

There's several types of a fried chicken recipe for chicken strips, but probably the easiest is in a deep fryer. You could also fry it in a pan with butter, but that would be a bit more work and mess.

Take your chicken breast and slice into strips. In a bowl, mix together bread crumbs and flower, then add any spices you may want (salt and pepper is a must). In a separate bowl, mix together egg and milk (this is an optional step, you do not need to do this but it adds an extra flavor). Roll your strips in milk/egg mixture then flour mixture (or just flour mixture if you skipped the milk/egg step). Fry until chicken floats and is golden brown.

More Fried Chicken Strip Ideas

Following fried chicken recipe is the same ideas as above, you can add just about anything to your chicken to give it a different flavor. Some things you could try:

- Maranate Chicken stripes before frying
- Add different spices to flour
- Use other types of bread crumbs such as "Italian Style"

The sky is the limit, and don't forget to try out different types of dipping sauces with your chicken! Honey mustard (half honey, half mustard) is wonderful with just about any version of a chicken strip fried chicken recipe. Recently I had picked up a small container of homemade dip mix spices from a craft show. Having used it for dip a few times, I decided to add it to my chicken strips one night. 4 pc chicken breast/leg medium pieces
All the vegetables beow chopped into big pieces:
1 big onion
1 capsicum
1 tomato
2 potatoes
50ml Olive oil Extra Virgin
1 tbsp Salt
2 tbsp Pepper
1/2 tbsp Turmeric

Optional marination, if you prefer it more spicy:
5 green chillies chopped small

Cooking Instructions
Marinate the chicken skinout with the above spices.Keep it in the freezer to get it well marinated and fast. After 20 minutes, before the meat get frozen, take this out and mix with the vegetables. Sprinkle the olive oil adequately to have the pieces soaked in. Fully wrap it in an aluminium foil to contain the juices and keep in the oven for 25 minutes at 220 degrees. Then, check the cooking level and turn the pieces to otherside down, if required in your oven for another 15 minutes. This check is to ensure the lipsmacking and healthy olive chicken is in a taste of your own.

Keeping it in freezer will reduce the cooking time. If time permits, you could keep it in the fridge for 1-2 hours.Take care that the pieces are not frozen or clubbed together!

So, its very simple and easy to make it in 1 hour. This serves 4 but sometimes, good enough for a single person as well! Good to eat it alone or to go with your drinks or with your ciabattas or baguettes! - Siby
